Happy February!

This is an exciting month around here. Last weekend was the opening of the Six Nations rugby (I cheered for Ireland and England, both won), Pete's birthday, and a superbowl with a power outage that I did not watch. Next week is Chinese New Year, a trip to a new country, followed quickly by my... Continue Reading →

Bowen Road: found

Yesterday I finally found Bowen Road. Largely thanks to the advice of a colleague- thanks Molly! To get there, for those who live in Hong Kong, go to Queens Road East from Happy Valley, and run towards Wan Chai, then past Stubbs Road (the road of doom), and turn left onto Kennedy street (or road...).... Someone talks to me on the bus

Normally on public transport, everyone stares discretely at their phone and plays some form of tetris. I read my kindle, listen to my music, look at other people listening to their music and playing their games. I forgot my ipod at work the previous day, so only had my books to keep me company. Snake Paraphernalia!

Chinese New Year: means stuffed snakes, red tassels and posters all over the place!! This was definitely my favorite:   Only a few weeks from the holiday! I'm glad the snakes look like characters from a children's cartoon.

A new holiday

This past week, we de-christmased our flat. We still have our new years' hats, but that doesn't count. It was epiphany, and therefor the decorations had to come down. No more garish tinsel, no more santa hats on the TV, no more ribbons littering the room. The tiny Christmas tree is tucked in the closet... Continue Reading →

Rooftop Trains

I have been taking an interlude to play with my new computer, and, more importantly, get used to my drawing software once again. I was thinking about what I should start off with, and so I flipped through the journal I keep of random thoughts as I walk about town, and saw that I had... Continue Reading →
